How can I send an artwork abroad for exhibition and bring it back to Thailand without paying import tax?
There are two main options:
1. Temporary Export & Re-import(within 1 year) and
2. ATA Carnet
Temporary export and re-import procedures allow clients to be exempt from import duties, provided that the items are re-imported within one year of export.
Issueing ATA Carnet is another option that allows paying duties or taxes at destination. By the way, the clients need to place a cash guarantee to the releveant department at origin as a condition.
How much is a typical lead time for fine art logistics services?
- - Collection OR delivery in Bangkok & urban areas: 1 working day
- - Domestic transportation: 3-4 working days
- - Crate fabrication: 2–3 working days
- - Loading to airport OR seaport: 1 working day
- - Customs clearance: 1 working day
- - Info of shipper OR consignee
*Air and sea freight transit times depend on the origin and destination of the shipment.
How is the total cost for fine art shipping calculated?
Costs are based on artwork dimensions, packing, distance, transport method, and destination.
Air freight is charged based on whichever is greater: volumetric weight or gross weight.
